COUNTRY FOCUS: CASE STUDY
demonstrate a consistent decrease in
GRN items ranging from 2.6% to 4.3%
on a monthly basis. This is significant
because we are able to better manage
the supply chain due to reduced
unnecessary items.
THE NEW SYSTEM
ALSO NOW PROVIDES
INFORMATION
ON THE RETURN
ORDERS TO MANAGE
THE PERISHABLE/
CONTAMINATED GOODS
IN THE STORE AND
ALSO INDICATES THE

We can also better rate our suppliers’
performance and monitor the items
delivered against each purchase order,
which has helped us to solve issues
related to lost/stolen items with our
suppliers. The system was designed
and developed for minimal data entry
limited to stock returns/perpetual stock
take topics; barcode scanning is made
mandatory for all receiving, transfer
and returns items in a store, which has
contributed in improving data accuracy.
The HHT system is boosting the current
sales in ADNOC Convenient Stores, with
sales increasing by 15% HHT System is
now implemented in 186 convenience
stores across UAE and used by 2,000+
employees, whilst simultaneously
keeping factors such as OPEX and Cost
Allocation constant, resulting in an
overall increase in profit.
As far as the environmental
enhancements, we can now order a right
product mix that serves customers better
and provides an enjoyable shopping
experience that meets their needs. By
ensuring the right product mix, we were
able to reduce food wastage, especially
in the bakery area of our business.
The new system also now provides
information on the return orders to
manage the perishable/contaminated
goods in the store and also indicates
the items that can be disposed of
without supplier’s presence, but at the
same time notifying the supplier.
Compared to previous computer/
paper based systems, the new system
has allowed ADNOC Distribution to
minimise the printing of business related
documents like purchase orders and
returns at the stores.
This translates to approximately 25%
less paper wastage in a month which is
1.4 million paper savings.
