There is no doubt 2015 brought a
whirlwind of advancement for CIOs.
Never before have so many new
technological nuisances swept across
the ICT landscape.
The phrase that most across the
industry have been hearing leading to
the New Year is ‘digital transformation’.
The prediction coming from most of
the respected analysts and consultants
is that unless businesses can effectively
and expediently implement this
‘transformation’ (across cloud, IoT,
mobile and big data analytics) then the
pace may inevitably leave them behind.
Speaking of big data, 2016 should
begin to shed more light on the
possibilities this term can bring to CIOs.
However, there is every indication that
this tool and those attempting to blue-

print it are some way off breaking down
its full potential and fully exploring its
business benefits. Watch this space
- more is certain to follow as data
analytics increasingly becomes vital to
getting a head-start.
We see security being a constant
talking point for 2016 - as our ability
to manipulate technology increases, so
too will the inevitable security breaches
that follow.
Intelligent CIO will be introducing a

held in Dubai in June.
