FEATURE: DATA CENTRES T here is an increasing need to drive IT innovation, agility and operational efficiency. Data centre infrastructure suppliers will continue to innovate and redesign for energy efficiency. At such a time, organisations need to keep up with trends by updating their IT infrastructure, or implementing infrastructures which are highly agile and scalable. As data centres become more softwaredriven, there will be an increased focus on integration of IT systems. According to technology research firm Gartner, IoT will see 26 billion units installed by 2020, and will direct large volumes of data into data centres. At this time, experts anticipate that the IoT products and services will generate revenue of over $300 billion. This enormous machine-to-machine (M2M) interaction will put a tremendous amount of pressure of data centres.
