FEATURE: DATA CENTRES
T
here is an increasing need
to drive IT innovation, agility
and operational efficiency.
Data centre infrastructure suppliers
will continue to innovate and redesign for energy efficiency. At such
a time, organisations need to keep
up with trends by updating their
IT infrastructure, or implementing
infrastructures which are highly agile
and scalable.
As data centres become more softwaredriven, there will be an increased
focus on integration of IT systems.
According to technology research firm
Gartner, IoT will see 26 billion units
installed by 2020, and will direct large
volumes of data into data centres. At
this time, experts anticipate that the
IoT products and services will generate
revenue of over $300 billion.
This enormous machine-to-machine
(M2M) interaction will put a
tremendous amount of pressure of
data centres. In order to address these
workload challenges head-on, new
innovations are coming into play.
