INTELLIGENT CIO TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE AWARDS, 2016 EMBRACING EXCELLENCE A s CIOs are increasingly required to demonstrate the business value of their projects and embrace the strategic benefits their businesses are striving to achieve. Against this backdrop, there is also a growing need for IT plans to include strong business justifications alongside the well-worn IT metrics that typically examine application delivery in isolation. Intelligent CIO strives to bridge this gap between the traditional role of the CIO and the new-age demands weighing in on this pivotal business role. Spreading our resources across print, digital and events, Intelligent CIO endeavours to guide CIOs of the Middle East with thought leadership, industry expertise, knowledge sharing and practical platforms from which to better understand the voice of the IT industry, encompassing the voice of vendors, distibutors and resellers, right down to you, the end-user. Organisations playing a pivotal role in the development of the ICT sector in the Middle East came together to attend the iconic Intelligent CIO Technology Excellence Awards 2016, hosted by Lynchpin Media and 44 INTELLIGENTCIO sponsored by CNet Training, Fortinet, ITSec, Citrix and Equinix. This ceremony, being the first of its kind in the region, marked the beginning of celebrating industry experts and companies who work tirelessly to push the margins of excellence and implement best practices across the technology spectrum. The award ceremony took place at the Westin Hotel in Al Habtoor City, Dubai, on May 11, 2016, and honoured companies and end-user individuals that have shown outstanding examples of IT implementation excellence and pioneering spirit in their chosen field of specialisation in the past year. A nomination process was put into place to identify candidates for various categories, thereafter, a prestigious panel of judges convened to select winners. The panel consisted of Eliot Beer, a regional industry expert who has worked across some of the region’s most respected IT publications; Ivan Kraemer, former regional leader of HP and Potential and Chris Moore, former consultant and regional expert for numerous companies (including Trend Micro). www.intelligentcio.com
