COUNTRY FOCUS : TURKEY
Istanbul is recognised as the central hub for data centre investments in Turkey , succeeded by Ankara and Izmir among others .
users and 3.1 million fixed broadband customers , supporting growing data demands .
Turkcell ’ s adoption of Qwilt ’ s Open Edge Cloud for Content Delivery platform is powered by Open Caching and enabled with Cisco ’ s edge computing and networking infrastructure . The joint solution is deeply embedded and fully integrated into Turkcell ’ s network edge , empowering the efficient handling of larger data volumes and enhancing the overall subscriber experience .
With network coverage extending to 99 % of Turkiye through 9,000 towers , this deployment activates Open Caching services at multiple distributed points of presence , equipping Turkcell to provide content publishers with the tools they need to deliver the highest quality content throughout Turkiye . This partnership makes Turkiye a content and Internet hub and supports Turkcell ’ s superonline vision of transforming , the Silk Road into the Fiber Road .
Türk Telekom completed the world ’ s first mass deployment of software-defined fibre broadband . By using Netsia ’ s BB Suite and Zyxel ’ s Whitebox OLT , Türk Telekom has taken an important step towards fulfilling its virtualised and disaggregated broadband network strategy , providing high-speed broadband services .
Zyxel and Netsia have successfully completed the integration of Zyxel ’ s SDA Series Combo Whitebox OLT with Netsia ’ s BB Suite to realise the fully disaggregated broadband access network . The integrated solution has been tested in Türk Telekom ’ s live network and is now ready for deployment by all service providers globally .
The Netsia BB Suite provides network operators with an open , multi-vendor platform based on opensource SEBA project and BBF data models . Netsia BB Suite enables network operators to extend software defined programming to the fixed access network with customised support for each operator ’ s unique services and workflows .
By enabling a fully disaggregated network , service providers are no longer committed to one vendor to fulfil all their needs . Instead , they have full flexibility to choose products and partners that work best for them , while having the flexibility to customise the solution to their needs .
Türk Telekom chose Zyxel ’ s Multi SDA products , which are all-in-one PON Whitebox OLT ’ s , are fully equipped to provide scalability , flexibility and interoperability to the Netsia BB Suite . The OLT ’ s has features that simultaneously support XGS-PON , GPON and Combo PON technologies , designed to make it easier for operators to adopt new technologies that integrate seamlessly with this solution .
Adtran announced that Vodafone Turkey has deployed its Oscilloquartz optical Caesium atomic clock technology to bring new levels of resilient timing to its nationwide network .
Adtran ’ s first-to-market solution will deliver robust protection against disruptions to GNSS signals , enabling Turkey ’ s service provider to maintain uninterrupted , reliable connectivity even while it readies 5G services .
By combining its existing Adtran Oscilloquartz core grandmaster clock devices with the new optical Caesium atomic clock technology , Vodafone Turkey has an ePRTC + solution that guarantees accurate network synchronisation during any possible GNSS unavailability . Artıtel also played a key role in the deployment , facilitating logistics and supply management .
For enhanced redundancy , Vodafone Turkey is strategically deploying Adtran ’ s Oscilloquartz ePRTC + across five different sites . Central to the solution are the Oscilloquartz OSA 3350 ePRC +, which utilizes optical pumping technology to achieve high-performance frequency stability , and Vodafone Turkey ’ s existing core grandmaster clocks , the OSA 5430 and OSA 5440 .
Along with the Oscilloquartz clock combiner , these components form the complete ePRTC + system . Capable of maintaining 100 nanoseconds holdover for at least 45 days , and typically up to 55 days , it surpasses current ITU-T G . 811.1 standards . The solution provides Vodafone Turkey with optimal stability , outperforming the lifespan of other highperformance magnetic caesium clocks .
Türkiye ’ s position as a digital bridge between East and West is getting stronger . By embracing the Open Edge model , the country is fortifying its network to meet the demands of content publishers , ensuring Turkiye and the region ’ s digital population remains constantly connected , entertained , and informed . p
