exacerbate this challenge, creating a need for userfriendly tools that do not require specialised expertise.
Alert fatigue, caused by the sheer volume of security alerts, overwhelms security teams, making it difficult to identify and prioritise genuine threats. Enterprises seek intelligent alert filtering and prioritisation. The complexity of managing disparate security tools from multiple vendors presents integration challenges, pushing the need for streamlined, integrated solutions.
Cost constraints are a significant factor, especially for smaller businesses, who need affordable options without sacrificing security. Finally, meeting various regulatory compliance requirements adds another layer of complexity.
Which generic technologies and innovations can make a difference to your end customers business?
Currently, security analysts, particularly Level 2 analysts, are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of alerts, hindering their ability to investigate and remediate threats quickly and effectively. AI-ML algorithms are being deployed to filter and prioritise alerts, reducing alert fatigue. However, the next leap involves leveraging AI to assist analysts in their investigations.
How can a channel partner in your industry disrupt the regional market and gain a leading competitive position?
Channel partners are uniquely positioned to facilitate significant positive change within the regional cybersecurity market. The increasing skills gap in cybersecurity is driving organisations, especially smaller and mid-sized businesses, to seek external expertise. Channel partners or service providers presents a valuable opportunity to effectively bridge this gap and become trusted security advisors.
This localised approach fosters trust and allows for customised solutions that address specific business needs. By focusing on local expertise, building strong partnerships, and offering a comprehensive suite of services, channel partners can become invaluable resources for businesses struggling to navigate the complexities of cybersecurity.
Which aspects of your job role do you find rewarding and which challenging?
Ganapathy enjoys working with a variety of audiences, from technical specialists to business leaders, and helping them understand the implications of evolving threats.
What she finds most rewarding, and simultaneously most challenging, about her role in cybersecurity is its inherent dynamism. The landscape of cybersecurity is in constant flux, evolving every single day. This rapid pace of technological advancement is both exhilarating and demanding.
On the one hand, it presents a continuous stream of novel problems to solve, requiring creative thinking and innovative solutions. This intellectual stimulation and the opportunity to constantly learn and adapt is incredibly rewarding. There is a real sense of accomplishment in tackling a complex issue and finding a robust solution. However, this constant evolution also presents significant challenges. Staying ahead of the curve requires continuous learning and adaptation. It demands a proactive approach to understanding emerging threats, new technologies, and evolving attack vectors.
The sheer volume of information and the speed at which it changes can sometimes feel overwhelming. It requires a commitment to lifelong learning and willingness to embrace change, which, while rewarding in the long run, can be challenging in the short term.
How do you best like to de-stress and re-charge off work?
To recharge from work, Ganapathy finds a balance between engaging her mind and nurturing her emotional well-being. Intellectually, she delves into the world of philosophy, preferably through books in her native language, Tamil.
Businesses often prefer the personalised touch and regional understanding that local providers can offer. Channel partners who establish a strong local presence, understand the specific cybersecurity challenges of the region, and cultivate personal relationships with clients are well-positioned to succeed.
Equally important is the time she spends with her family. Whether it is a shared activity, a simple conversation, or creating art together, these moments of connection with her family provide a sense of belonging and emotional replenishment. She recharges by nourishing both her mind and her heart. p
