COVER STORY
EARLIER GENERATIONS OF AI WERE REACTIVE, DESIGNED TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. AGENTIC AI IS PROACTIVE.
East, we’ ll apply those lessons by starting with targeted deployments, ensuring relevance and building trust through transparency and security.
The pace of technological change is accelerating and many leaders wonder what the next five-to-10 years may hold. Where do you see Agentic AI fitting within the broader Digital Transformation agenda for the region by the end of this decade? experimentation through pilots, workshops and coinnovation labs.
What sets our approach apart is our enterprise grade Agentic AI Framework. Unlike experimental or consumer-focused offerings, it’ s built for scale, with security, explainability and interoperability at its core. It integrates seamlessly with existing systems while maintaining transparency and governance. Whether it’ s modernising data platforms or embedding AI into operations, we’ re enabling organisations in the region to deploy Agentic AI responsibly and with confidence.
Kyndryl recently rolled out‘ 100 AI agents in 100 days’ in partnership with Google Cloud, deploying them across real use cases in production. What lessons resulted from the rapid scale deployment and how does this influence how you will roll out Agentic AI in the Middle East?
The rollout showed us how fast Agentic AI can deliver value when it’ s tied to real use cases. Agents performed best when focused on specific tasks and embedded into existing workflows. For the Middle
Agentic AI will be a core part of the Digital Transformation agenda. It will power adaptive systems across industries, from autonomous supply chains to intelligent citizen services. The Middle East’ s commitment to innovation and infrastructure investment makes it a natural leader in this space. At Kyndryl, we see Agentic AI as a catalyst, not just for efficiency, but for resilience, agility and growth. It’ s not just about what AI can do, it’ s about what organisations can become with it.
As a leader, you’ ve seen many technology waves rise and fall. What excites you most about the future of Agentic AI and what gives you pause?
It would have to be the potential for Agentic AI to unlock new forms of collaboration, not just between humans and machines, but across ecosystems. It’ s a chance to rethink how we solve problems, make decisions and create value.
What gives me pause is the need for thoughtful governance. Autonomy without accountability is risky, but with the right frameworks, Agentic AI can be transformative. At Kyndryl, we’ re committed to building that future responsibly, because leadership isn’ t just about innovation, it’ s about trust. p
