Regional trends dictate that January is a slow month for most sector enterprises as they finalise new budgets and sign off on yearly plans. This is of course true within the IT relam, but the pounding issue of security towards the latter quarters of 2016 has hit 2017 like an express steam train..., no slowing down for track changes, no mid way station stops and no decreasing speed for oncoming traffic. And why should it be any other way? Cyber security breaches and their hacker architects certainly did not pause over the festive sseason to draw breath and evalaute. The attacks keep coming and the security industry must act (or react) acordingly. And so, what might invaribly be a trend for the foreseeable future, security, in light or current developments, will invariably impose a large presence on 4 INTELLIGENTCIO each issue of Intelligent CIO!
