ITC signs with MCIT to implement
Broadband fibre optic initiative
The agreement provides financial support to ITC with an
approximate amount of 1.344 Billion SR, to be paid in
regular instalments.
The Integrated Telecom Company (ITC), a leading
information and communications technology Company, has
signed an agreement with the Ministry of Communications
and Information Technology (MCIT) to implement a high-
speed fibre optic broadband initiative.
This will be done in accordance with the pre-approved
Broadband Implementation Agreement which was signed
earlier this year with the Communications and Information
Technology Commission (CITC).
Eng. Ghassan Itani, ITC’s CEO and President, said: “This
agreement comes within the framework of the continuous
support and participation of ITC to the directives of
the MCIT and CITC, and continuing on the company
commitment to utilise all its financial, technical and human
capabilities to achieve all the strategic objectives of the
National Transition Program 2020 initiatives, within Saudi
Vision 2030.
“This agreement will improve the level of services provided
to customers in all sectors. The company’s great expertise
will contribute to the development of this vital sector
and enhance the digital infrastructure as well as help in
providing high-speed fibre optic broadband services to
the urban areas of the Kingdom, government offices and
residential units.”
Prince Sultan Academy of Aviation
launches two new mobile simulators
The Prince Sultan Academy for Aeronautics has launched
modern mobile simulators for two different Boeing models. technological capabilities have become a fundamental pillar
of evolution.”
The launch took place in the presence of the Director General
of Saudi Airlines Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, as well as
heads of companies and strategic units and those interested
in aviation. He added that the development was the result of a
transformation programme that is being implemented
throughout the organisation, in line with the objectives of the
national transformation programme Saudi 2020. This aims to
double the achievements of 70 years in seven years.
The two new units are simulated mobile simulators for the
Boeing B777-300ER and B787-9 models.
The academy has received the General Civil Aviation Authority
(GCAA) licence to train users on the two devices.
The simulators, which are among the most advanced training
devices in the world, support the academy’s ability to provide
quality training for Saudi Airlines and other airlines to the
highest safety standards.
Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser said: “It is a source of pride that
the Prince Sultan Academy of Aviation Sciences with its
accumulated knowledge, accumulated expertise, highly
qualified human elements and modern technical and
