NEWS New website is dedicated to workers’ welfare in Qatar T he Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) in Qatar has launched a new website specifically dedicated to workers’ welfare. The site – www.workerswelfare. qa – features a timeline of the SC’s workers’ welfare journey, containing details of the numerous initiatives being delivered to benefit the thousands of workers engaged on 2022 FIFA World Cup projects. Workers’ welfare is a key legacy initiative of the SC, which is responsible for delivering the infrastructure required for Qatar to host the world’s biggest single-sport event in four years’ time. HE Hassan Al Thawadi, the SC’s Secretary General, said the use of Information Technology will help to share details of workers’ welfare progress in Qatar. “We are committed to transparency in relation to workers’ welfare and this new website will include details of every project related to this area,” said Al Thawadi. “We are proud of our achievements in relation to workers’ welfare but know there is still much to be done. They have incredible stories to tell which we would like to use the website to share with the world.” This is the latest website to be developed by the SC, following similar projects for Community Engagement, Generation Amazing and Challenge 22. ////////////////// Prime Minister of Qatar attends graduation of IT Talent Program T he Prime Minister of Qatar attended the graduation of the first batch of an IT talent programme. His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani witnessed the graduation of the first batch of both the IT talent and access to employment programmes, which come under the umbrella of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Executed in partnership with HEC Paris in Qatar, the IT Talent Program is one of several programmes and initiatives under the wider Qatar Digital Government Training Program (QDGTP). This is one of many similar programmes that aim to achieve the strategic objectives of the Qatar Digital Government 2020. ​ DGTP focuses on supporting Qatar national strategy for digital Q transformation of government sectors through providing training solutions focused on enhancing the current capabilities of ICT professionals. It aims to build new skills that ICT professionals need to meet the desired performance standards of their roles and thereby support the objectives of the Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
