////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// FEATURE: AI Moving forward with AI Ask the person on the street about the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) and they may not be too familiar with the concept. Yet there is no denying it is transforming every aspect of life, helping us with the decision-making process even if many business leaders do not understand how it can be successfully deployed within their own organisation. www.intelligentcio.com A lthough there is no universally agreed definition of AI there is general agreement that it refers to the way machines can make decisions that usually require the subtleties of the human brain. The process utilises algorithms specifically designed to make the most of data produced in real-time. This data can come from a variety of sources, including sensors, and can be analysed by AI systems to embark on a decision-making process. In practice, it sees machines operating in an intelligent manner, adapting the thought process to anticipate problems with significant potential for areas of ICT such as cybersecurity. Autonomous operations will be able to use artificial intelligence and machine learning to proactively monitor for anomalies, anticipate outcomes, take remedial action and be aware of risks in real-time. It is predicted that by 2025, 80% of risks concerning cloud operations will vanish entirely and more intelligent automation will permeate the cloud platform. INTELLIGENTCIO 57
