developers to understand the benefits
of new technology and how to use or
implement it.
Unfortunately, I see this continuing for
some time, through conferences and major
events, educating people and creating a
real ecosystem for AI, especially for our
neuromorphic technology that allows
developers of hardware-based solutions like
drones, IoT and smart city to tap into the
benefits of non-stop learning at low power,
with anomaly detection in nanoseconds.
What advice would you offer
somebody aspiring to obtain c-level
position in your industry?
What do you currently identify as
the major areas of investment in
your industry?
Knowledge is critical. Education, in my
opinion, is the key to everything. As people
gain better understanding of a technology
like AI (that is so diverse) and what it can do
for them, then they are more likely to adapt
it better and use it to enhance their lives,
whether at work or at home.
What are the region-specific
challenges when implementing new
technologies in the Middle East?
While the governments in this region are
really putting a strong emphasis on new

technologies, the ratio of early adoptors in
this region is less than some other countries.
I think there needs to be more (and wider
reaching) educational programmes like the
one at Dubai Future Academy, to embrace
new technologies, faster and easier, and
making them more accessible to the
community not just of developers but also
the adopters.
What changes to your job role have
you seen in the last year and how do
you see these developing in the next
12 months?
As a technology enabler, I am spending
more time than I anticipated on the road,
educating customers, universities and
Anyone wanting to get into this segment
needs to get a solid background in all
aspects, from technical to finance to sales
and marketing. They also need to be able to
work in a very multi-cultural environment. n
