Initiated by the SC’s Workers’ Welfare Department and Special Projects Office, in collaboration with the Qatar Innovation Community, the app was developed to utilise the popularity of smartphones with workers and benefit them by providing a customised platform capable of enhancing their everyday lives. Following an initial pilot with 250 workers the ‘Madad – SC Workers’ app has been rolled out to all 22,000 workers engaged on SC infrastructure projects. The word ‘madad’ means ‘help’ in both Arabic and Hindi. Led by the SC’s Projects Advisor, Oscar Liebana, in collaboration with local tech experts A101, the app was developed 12 INTELLIGENTCIO following an intensive consultation period with SC workers. During the development phase, workers at Lusail Stadium were asked for their feedback on the features, functionality and design of the app, which is intended as a one-stop shop for all their needs. Mahmoud Qutub, the SC’s Workers’ Welfare Executive Director, said: “This app helps us to provide support for workers whenever and wherever they need it.
