STC achieves highest 5G reach level
in the Middle East
The company stated that a larger number
of advanced technical services and
solutions operated utilising high Internet
speed would be available to customers by
the second half of 2019. STC also praised
the Ministry of Communications and
Information and the Communications and
Information Technology Commission for
the support it has provided.
The company launched its first 5G live
network last May for the first time in the
MENA region after the success of its 5G
experiments and trials.
S
TC has achieved the highest reach level
in the Middle East for 5G following
the launch of its first live network in May
2018. Although 5G devices are currently
not available in the market for customers,
the company has been able to provide
450 locations with a 5G network across
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an initial
phase, achieving one of the highest reach
levels worldwide.
STC says it is working on completing the
following phases of spreading 5G services
on a wider scale to ensure the improvement
of digital services and the enrichment of
customer experience across the Kingdom.
STC stated that its pioneering position in
launching modern information technology
services reflects the advancement of
the communications and information
technology sector in the Kingdom, stressing
that this advancement is part of the
Kingdom’s digitisation plans and NTP
2020 objectives.
