T
he Abu Dhabi Digital Authority
(ADDA), in collaboration with IBM, has
launched a new set of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) training workshops that have been
specifically developed and created for Abu
Dhabi government employees.
The workshops look towards increasing
key awareness on the advantages being
offered by AI, while also helping improve the
decision-making skills of local government
employees. Local government departments
can nominate eligible employees to take part
in the workshops. The training agenda covers
timely and important topics in AI, including
business management and technical aspects
of modern technologies.
HE Dr Rauda Al Saadi, Director General,
ADDA, said: “We are proud to announce the
launching of our new AI-focused training
programmes, which we are implementing
in partnership with IBM. This initiative has
been strategically developed to help give
our local government employees a better
understanding of AI and the benefits and
advantages it offers to us, especially in our
efforts towards Digital Transformation.
“With this new training programme, ADDA
will be able to live up to its commitment of
playing a central role in the improvement
and enhancement of the talents and skills
of the national workforce – ushering in
a new generation of highly skilled and
qualified UAE nationals in essential areas of
technology and innovation.”

L
aw enforcement and security
operations in the UAE have received
a tech upgrade. Dubai-based software
developer and solutions provider NNTC
has partnered with Vuzix to supply
security personnel in the UAE with
the world’s first, fully autonomous
AI-powered face recognition system
– NNTC’s iFalcon Face Control Mobile.
A total of 50 Vuzix Blade Smart
Glasses, powered by NNTC’s trademark
technology, have been deployed to
multiple security operations. Engineered
specifically for law enforcement officers
and security personnel, the solution
allows wearers to discretely scan faces
in a crowd and compare them against
a comprehensive offline database of
violators, missing people and suspects.
Dmitry Doshaniy, General Manager at
NNTC, said: “Our software employs a

INTELLIGENTCIO
face recognition algorithm that has been
ranked very highly in terms of its quality.
“After years of dedication and hard work,
we’ve managed to achieve a level of
accuracy that is practically unparalleled.
“The objective of this technology is
to channel the potential of Artificial
Intelligence and augmented reality to
assist in law enforcement procedures.”
The independent Face Recognition
Vendor Test conducted by the US
National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) has recorded a
True Positive Rating (TPR) of 97.45%,
indicating a high percentage of accurate
matches and a False Positive Rating
(FPR) of only 0.1% on a test database
of over one million faces for NNTC’s face
recognition algorithm.
