Kuwait event to put FinTech under the spotlight
T
he third edition of the Kuwait Financial
Technology event is set to be held in
Kuwait City on October 22 to 24.
The event will take place at the Four Seasons
Hotel, Kuwait City, and is designed for the
financial services and innovation community
and seeks to showcase the latest financial
technology (FinTech) thought leadership.
It will also unravel the opportunities that
exist today in the sector and open discussion
into the challenges faced by the sector today
and aim to find solutions to them.
The event will bring together an exclusive
group of leading corporates, regulators,
entrepreneurs and academics from around
the globe who will debate topics like
payments, Blockchain, Robotic Process
Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine
Learning, Big Data and banking APIs.
The event will provide finance, banking,
technology and other executives with an
opportunity to learn about the latest Fintech
developments. Furthermore, there will be
ample opportunities to network with other
professionals who share the same fintech
interests. The event aims to enable attendees
to learn, discuss and evaluate Fintech
topics with a greater degree of knowledge
and industry insight. FinTech has evolved

Kuwait Oil Company Cybersecurity Summit
highlights threat landscape
T
he Kuwait Oil Company has successfully raised awareness of
the dangers represented by cybercriminals at its cybersecurity
summit in Ahmadi.
A number of CEOs, group managers and team leaders, as well as
a host of guests and interested parties attended the event held
under the patronage and presence of Emad Sultan, CEO of Kuwait
Oil Company. In his statement, the CEO thanked the summit
organisers and participants, noting that the event was characterised
by rich content, participation and interaction. Speakers at the event
were also honoured, as well as the teams that contributed to the
organisation and success of the summit.
The two-day event, organised by the Information Security Team
(Corporate Information Technology Group), was launched at the
company’s tent in Ahmadi.
A number of CEOs, group managers, team leaders, members of
the Cyber Security Committee for the oil sector, representatives of
government ministries and official authorities and guests from other
Gulf countries attended the opening ceremony.
In his statement at the summit’s commencement, the company’s
CEO Emad Sultan stressed that the conference marks the beginning
of a series of information security activities that the company
intends to organise.
Robert Lee, CEO, DRAGOS Inc, delivered a presentation entitled
‘The Industrial Cyber Threat Landscape’ and was followed by a
presentation from Chris Roberts of Attivo Networks called ‘A Hacker’s
Perspective: Where Do We Go from Here?’ n
