‘TAMM’ initiative awarded with the Sheikh
Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Now in its 19th
year, the award serves as a development platform
aimed at promoting informatics and acceptance of a
digital culture. ‘TAMM’ was recognised for its key efforts
in delivering a digital government that is proactive,
personalised and secure.
HE Dr Rauda Al Saadi, Director General, ADDA, received
the award during a recognition ceremony in Kuwait’s
capital city, in the presence of Kuwaiti Emir His
Highness Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and other
awardees from neighbouring Arab nations.

he Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) has revealed that its
‘TAMM’ platform has been named as one of the 10 winning
entries at this year’s edition of the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah
Informatics Award.
The award, which is the first of its kind in the region, is being held
under the guidance and patronage of Kuwaiti Emir His Highness
HE Dr Rauda Al Saadi, Director General, ADDA,
said: “We are very pleased with this achievement,
which demonstrates our continuing efforts to be at
pace with today’s digital technologies while also further
consolidating Abu Dhabi’s leading position in the move towards
Digital Transformation.
“I would like to thank our working teams from ADDA and ‘TAMM’ for
their continued dedication and commitment to play an important
leading role across the emirate’s Digital Transformation agenda.”

RIPE NCC and TRA hold roundtable in UAE on
the role of governments in Internet development
T
he RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC), in co-
operation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
(TRA) in the UAE, have held a roundtable discussion dedicated to
Arab ICT ministries and regulators on ‘The Role of Arab Governments
in Internet Development.’
The discussion put the spotlight on current opportunities and
challenges in the Middle East in managing Internet resources and
highlighted new developments.
The roundtable was attended by representatives from several Arab
countries, including: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen and Egypt.
HE Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, said: “We have
important strategic issues to examine and discuss, we have a lot of
headlines that represent opportunities and challenges at the same
time. These include the future of the Internet in light of the growing
scope of users across the region and the implementation of IPv6 and
the consequent necessities of co-ordination and mutual benefit from
expertise and experience.”

RIPE NCC and the TRA in UAE have held

growth in the region. These meetings are an ideal platform to

and Internet security today.”
