Intelligent CIO Middle East Issue 53 | Page 7

EDITOR’S NOTE Welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO Middle East. As you will no doubt be aware, the world has been turned upside-down since our last issue. At that time we were certainly all aware of the outbreak of Coronavirus in China. We’ve seen it spread across the globe but few of us would have expected to have seen the explosion of cases that we have. The virus has had a massive impact on everybody’s life with many countries opting for a lockdown meaning our wellestablished life and work routines have been thoroughly disrupted. Of course, the work of IT companies has reflected the concerns of the world around it. And that’s why we have handed over large chunks of the magazine to its coverage. Our news section is dominated by the subject and I would encourage you to read daily news updates on our website at www.intelligentcio.com/me/. As usual, we take a look at outstanding implementations of technological solutions and this month is no different. This edition’s cover features Peter Gesper, Senior Vice President of IT of Noon. He tells us why OneLogin has become the company’s main control portal for its access management and authentication. OneLogin is an identity platform for secure, scalable and smart experiences that connect people to technology. With the OneLogin Trusted Experience Platform, customers can connect all of their applications, identify potential threats and act quickly. “Implementing OneLogin SSO has not only helped us to streamline the process but also increased security and reduced support hours required by our system admins,” he told us. “The biggest advantage of OneLogin would be the provisioning ability where we can onboard hundreds of users with a few clicks.” To find out more and to read our comprehensive interview please turn to page 58. Elsewhere in the magazine, we look at a global study commissioned by Automation Anywhere, which reveals an increasing appetite to automate repetitive processes in the workplace. Milan Sheth, Executive Vice President India, Middle East and Africa, Automation Anywhere, tells us: “Enterprises are willing to embrace automation to drive employee productivity, retain valuable talent and boost revenues. Most of the participants believe that repetitive admin work is an obstacle for them to do their main job.” Turn to p36 to find out more about the results of the survey. As usual, we have all your favourite features and a news round-up from across the region. And please don’t forget if you would like to get in touch email me at mark@lynchpinmedia.co.uk. I’d like to wish you a good month ahead and please enjoy the read! Mark Bowen Editor www.intelligentcio.com INTELLIGENTCIO 7
