PROJECT UPDATE LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE EGYPT The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt (MCIT) has launched an e-learning platform, in collaboration with ICDL Arabia, with the aim to introduce the different segments of society to digital literacy, safely and effectively. The ICT Minister Amr Talaat said MCIT provides citizens with digital training opportunities, so they can gain experience and acquire different technological skills. The new programmes are tailored to empower social media influencers and Internet users to use the Internet safely, deal with cyberbullying and use online search engines effectively. KUWAIT Zain Kuwait has announced that it is changing its network’s name to ‘Shlonik’, in line with the Ministry of Health and its efforts to launch the Shlonik app, as the government starts a plan to evacuate citizens stranded abroad. ‘Shlonik’ translates to ‘How are you?’ in the Kuwaiti dialect. The Shlonik app was developed by Zain in collaboration with the ministry and the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT).
