CommScope and stc deploy 30-port antennas
world-class 5G network. CommScope had
long been a trusted international partner
of stc following years of wide deployments
of multiple antenna solutions, including a
customised design for 16-port antennas to
support increased densification of the 4G/
LTE network.
CommScope and Saudi Telecom Company
(stc) announced they are deploying
30-port antennas, enabling the operator
to bring innovation towards 5G across the
Middle East and North Africa.
To keep pace with the demands of
modern society and expand into new
markets, stc is demonstrating use-cases
for next-generation wireless technologies.
The deployment of CommScope’s new
customised 30-port antenna enabled stc
to support more technologies with less
weight and wind-load on towers, solving the
challenge of overburdened infrastructure
and giving adequate room to deploy 5G
equipment. As a result, the service provider

line with international developments,
the Saudi market is being transformed
by the advances of the fourth industrial

Huawei and SC2 embark on Smart City
projects in KSA
Huawei and Smart City Solutions Company
(SC2), a leading Saudi Smart City service
provider and operator, have signed a teaming
agreement to co-operate in providing Saudi
Arabia with innovative Smart City solutions
that support the national aspiration of
enhancing the liveability and operational
efficiency of Saudi cities.
Ahmed ALSanaa, Chairman of the Board
of BATIC, said: “SC2 was established with a
vision to be the first Smart City operator in
Saudi Arabia, a proposition which is missing
in the market today. It engages with city
managers and developers in public private
partnership models providing a unique
central citizen experience and enable city
officials to take informed decisions to
provide efficiency to its operations. We are
confident that our partnership with Huawei
will leverage the large portfolio of Huawei in
Smart Cities and its capabilities in building
Smart City digital platforms.”
David Shi, Middle East President Huawei
Enterprise, said: “The first project under this
agreement is the implementation of smart
parking, smart lighting, video analytics
through state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence
algorithms and a robust ICT infrastructure for
the Eastern province parking project covering
AL Khobar, Dammam and Dhahran cities.”
