Nutanix , an enterprise cloud computing solutions vendor , recently announced that Saudi Arabia ’ s Gulf General Co-operative Insurance Company ( GGCI ) had successfully completed its journey to the powerful Nutanix Cloud in a move designed to help the insurance firm overcome regulatory compliance and security challenges .
Prior to implementing the Nutanix Cloud project , GGCI had multiple solutions for servers , storage , backup and Disaster Recovery and faced the challenge of keeping costs down , time and efficiency .

“ We compared the Nutanix Cloud solution we implemented with two other offerings from giant solution providers also present in the Saudi market . After careful evaluation , we opted for the Nutanix-based cloud technology because of the lower cost of ownership and impeccable after-sales support . The business case for the project entailed that the IT team provide all the facts and figures for the investment to the C-level executives within the company . The Nutanix Cloud offering appealed to senior management because it was considered as an out of box solution considering that GGCI has future expansion plans ,” said Shaikh Hassan , Head of IT , GGCI .
“ Currently , the retail segment of the Saudi insurance industry is booming . GGCI is a SAR200 million ( US $ 53 million ) company and we have plans in place to grow to SAR400 million ( US $ 106.6 million ) in the near future .”
