Saudi Arabia and World Bank announce initiative to share AI expertise with developing countries

The partnership will support target nations to identify gaps in their own readiness and ability to utilise AI and data and develop their own AI policies for innovation and acceleration of AI based on sustainable development goals .
The World Bank and Saudi Arabia have announced a long-term partnership to accelerate the use of Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) in developing nations in support of economic and development goals .
The objective is to ensure that no nation is left behind in the race to unlock the value of AI while ensuring the appropriate safeguards are in place to manage the risks associated with AI . Under the partnership , the World Bank and Saudi Arabia , represented by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority ( SDAIA ), will co-operate to assist countries in creating policies and initiatives that
The initiative was announced recently by HE Dr Esam bin Abdullah Alwagait , Director , National Information Centre ( NIC ) and Makhtar Diop , Vice President of Infrastructure , World Bank at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh .
Alwagait said : “ Through this partnership with the World Bank , Saudi Arabia aims to help all countries of the world to unlock the value of Artificial Intelligence and to share in the benefits of data-driven decision making to support economic and social growth .”
stc launches data analysis laboratory as a cloud platform for Artificial Intelligence innovation

Group , has called on large companies to adopt transformative plans to promote innovation through Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) and to develop solutions that aim to support the growth of sectors while reducing the costs in each of them .
stc has also launched an Advanced Cloud Based Data Analysis Laboratory through which Big Data and predictive analysis as well as AI innovation can be analysed by providing an integrated structure that supports the use of advanced methods and techniques that support open sources .
During Al-Nasser ’ s participation at the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence , organised virtually by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority ( SDAIA ), he pointed out that stc relied on various AI technologies that serve customers and the group in order to improve efficiency and create better
experiences for customers and thus contribute to increasing revenues and reducing costs .
Al-Nasser ’ s sentiments came during a discussion session on planning for the age of Artificial Intelligence . The laboratory is also characterised by its ability to process an enormous amount of data in a short time and provide a suitable environment for collaborative work with several different users and bodies . This advanced structure will allow the development of various projects , co-operation opportunities and partnerships locally and internationally .
