Trend Micro addresses Oman ’ s sophisticated industrial cybersecurity attacks
Trend Micro hosts sixth annual Global Capture the Flag competition in Oman
Trend Micro Incorporated , a global provider of cybersecurity solutions , has announced a first of its kind intentbased industrial intelligent IPS array for industrial environments designed to protect Oman ’ s large-scale industrial networks from critical attacks while reducing OPEX and CAPEX .
Aligned with Oman Vision 2040 , the country is transitioning to a diversified economy with local manufacturing , along with innovative Smart Cities systems with complex industrial networks .
At the same time , Oman needs to secure these smart manufacturing and Smart Cities systems from cyberattacks .
As a result , the Middle East and Africa ’ s Internet of Things cybersecurity market is set to top US $ 3.2 billion by 2025 , posting four-fold growth from 2015 , according to Mordor Intelligence .

Trend Micro Incorporated , a global provider of cloud security solutions , has hosted its sixth annual Oman Capture the Flag ( CTF ) competition , which provides hands on experience to nurture the talent of more cybersecurity professionals .
Oman hosted eight teams and 26 players . The winning team N0m4ds advanced to the Arab and Africa regional virtual finals , with up to 15 national winners going head-to-head .
N0m4ds were Mohammed Albalushi , Anwar Almamari and Mahmoud Alshukri . In second place was Zero-Day , with Salim Ali Albadi , Ahmed Abdullatif , Mohammed AlKalbani and Yasser AlSiyabi . Genes Cup is being run as a fully online event for the first time , including virtual qualifying and final rounds .
