SAUDI ARABIA
Saudi Payments , under the supervision of the Saudi Central Bank ( SAMA ) recently announced the launch of Saudi Arabia ’ s instant payments system ‘ sarie ’ in cooperation with IBM and Mastercard . This collaboration marks a key milestone for payments innovation in the region and is aligned with Saudi Payments ’ aim to improve the Kingdom ’ s financial ecosystem , mainly through the adoption of faster payments and improvements to banking reconciliation .

The UAE Ministry of Economy ( MoE ) and Securities and Commodities Authority ( SCA ), have launched the ‘ FinTech Megathon 2021 ’, the first-of-a-kind nationwide megathon aimed at furthering the development of the FinTech industry by bringing together a large array of start-ups specialised in financial services technology . Powered by FinTech Galaxy ’ s FinX22 platform , the megathon will run until February 2022 .
