SAUDI ARABIA
Dumat Al Jandal , the 400-megawatt ( MW ) utility-scale wind power project developed by a consortium led by Abu Dhabibased Masdar and EDF Renewables , two of the world ’ s leading renewable energy companies , is now connected to the grid and has produced its first carbon-free megawatt-hours ( MWh ) of energy . Dumat Al Jandal is the Middle East ’ s largest wind farm and the first in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . It consists of 99 wind turbines from supplier and EPC contractor Vestas , each with a power output of 4.2MW

UAE
The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority ( TDRA ) recently announced that the 2G ( GSM ) shutdown process in the UAE is proceeding according to plans and networks of service providers Etisalat and du will completely shut it by the end of 2022 . The sale of devices that work only on 2G will be stopped in June 2022 in the UAE markets , the TDRA press release added .

stc Bahrain and Nokia have launched the stc AgileWAN service , which helps evolve the operator ’ s ICT services managed portfolio . Nokia ’ s Nuage Networks has deployed its Software Defined Wide Area Network ( SD-WAN ) to enable the service . The new AgileWAN service by stc Bahrain can now enable businesses across industries to execute their transformation initiatives , backed by the agility , support , and services required to attract the desired business impact .

OMAN
Delta , a global provider of power and thermal management solutions , has announced its new partnership with International Information Technology Co . LLC , an OHI Group company in Oman . Delta and IITC will collaborate closely on upcoming data centre and IT infrastructure projects in Oman and across the Middle East . IITC will also be responsible for distributing Delta ’ s range of uninterruptible power supply ( UPS ) and cooling systems .

JORDAN
Telco equipment vendor Nokia , has announced that it has signed a three-year agreement with Orange Jordan to deploy more than 100,000 units of Nokia WiFi Beacons across the country . Nokia ’ s solution , including fibre modems and Wi-Fi beacons , will allow Orange Jordan to provide consistent Wi-Fi coverage even at the farthest places inside the premises . Nokia ’ s Wi-Fi solution uses mesh technology to provide seamless coverage and no service drops in the building ’ s farthest parts , making them suitable for large houses , gated communities and offices .
