JORDAN
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship ( MoDEE ) in Jordan has launched a new ground-breaking initiative to increase regional and international investments in the Kingdom ’ s digital outsourcing economy . In partnership with the World Bank Group ( WBG ), the MoDEE recently conducted a one-hour webinar titled , ‘ Jordan ’ s Qualified IT Talents : Your Winning Card Against Your Competitors ,’ in which the ministry launched the Jordan Source programme .

OMAN
Omantel , the integrated telecom services provider in the sultanate of Oman , has signed a multi-year agreement with Optiva to upgrade Optiva Charging Engine to a cloudnative architecture on Omantel ’ s private cloud . The upgrade represents the next phase of Omantel ’ s Digital Transformation strategy to use technology and automation to drive superior customer experience and significantly improve time to market for new services . In addition , the upgrade will support new business models for 5G monetisation and introduce Optiva Test Framework to reduce deployment time by up to 70 %.

EGYPT
Orange and the German Development Cooperation have inaugurated , the seventh ‘ Orange Digital Centre ’ ( ODC ) in the heart of Cairo , an ecosystem highly dedicated to the development of digital skills and innovation to train young people in digital technology to enhance their employability . The latest launch follows on from Tunisia , Senegal , Ethiopia , Mali , Côte d ’ ivoire and Cameroon , where ODCs have been inaugurated . The Orange Digital Center in Egypt brings together four strategic programmes of the Orange Group , namely , a Coding School , FabLab , Orange Fab and Orange Ventures .
Dubai SME , the agency of Dubai Economy mandated to develop the SME sector , has appointed McLedger , the region ’ s first homegrown FinTech cloud platform , as the official online bookkeeping solution for UAE-based start-ups . The recognition by Dubai SME is in line with the Dubai government ’ s vision to provide UAE start-ups with the required support from tracking their finances to simplifying other official procedures .
