Saudi Arabia ’ s Ministry of Health embraces multicloud approach to boost healthcare services

MoH is responsible for the country ’ s public healthcare service which caters for a growing population of more than 35 million people . MoH accelerated the transformation of its IT systems with the onset of COVID-19 which has added strain on healthcare systems and increased the need for robust applications , such as booking platforms for vaccinations and remote access to patient records .
MoH simplified its IT infrastructure by deploying VMware Cloud Foundation as the unifying platform for its cloud environment , spreading workloads across the clouds of service providers including STC and Mobily .

stc records growth of self-activated services and international traffic

Data traffic witnessed an increase in usage during the first days of Eid al-Adha . The demand for chat applications increased by 173 % compared to normal days due to the demand for exchanging congratulations and blessings , followed by Snapchat with 121 % to share shots and pilgrims ’ moments .
During Eid , Internet data services recorded a growth of more than 18 % and voice services recorded a growth of 8 % compared to the same period last year . International traffic on stc ’ s network increased to most countries , including Yemen , Sudan and Egypt , whose demand volume rose to more than 990 %, compared to normal days during peak hours .

stc provided many digital solutions and services during the Hajj season 1443 , including digital medical services such as the Holo Doctor service , security and monitoring services and drones to monitor traffic at the holy sites . stc recorded a growth of 4 % in digital services compared to last year , reflecting the increased demand for services provided by the company through its digital channels .

The group also provided an innovative solution to monitor the infrastructure at the holy sites , Makkah and Madinah , via the stc smart screen ( Dashboard ) to ensure quality communication services and facilitate communication of pilgrims with their families and sharing their time during their stay .
