Musandam Governor ’ s Office inks an agreement with Oman Data Park to provide cloud and hosting services
The Musandam Governor ’ s Office has signed a co-operation agreement with Oman Data Park ( ODP ) to use the company ’ s cloud services to host the governorate data centre .
The agreement was signed in the pursuit of the governorate keeping pace with technological developments .
In accordance with the agreement , ODP will create and host the domain name and email IDs for the Governorate of Musandam . It will also set an official electronic address for the governorate to be used by visitors and beneficiaries of its electronic services .
Additionally , ODP will create an email ID for each governorate employee , allowing them to communicate with each other and with others , as well as ensuring the safe hosting of the governorate ’ s data . The company will provide continuous technical support to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of government work , as well as ensuring the smooth running of its transactions .
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidy , Governor of the Musandam Governorate , and Eng .
Maqbool bin Salem Al Wahaibi , CEO of the ODP Company . This reflects the governorate ’ s efforts within the national direction to implement Oman Vision 2040 , which aims to create an innovative government sector and accelerate the implementation of the government Digital Transformation programme .
Oman Trading Establishment leverages cloud solutions
Oman Trading Establishment Group ( OTE ), one of the largest business houses in Oman with considerable experience in the automotive sector , is working with global technology company SAP SE to move to a private cloud and utilise digital solutions to improve efficiency , support sustainability initiatives and improve services for customers and employee engagement .
The partner for the Digital Transformation is IntelliSoft , an SAP gold partner with a focus on the automotive industry .
Together , OTE , SAP and IntelliSoft have created a digital roadmap with RISE with SAP as the starting point to speed up the move to the cloud . The aim is to go beyond just a technical migration to the cloud and allow OTE to fully transform its business , achieving faster new capability and application roll-out through managed services , and enabling on-going transformation .
Director of OTE , Sheikh Mohammed Bahwan , said : “ We have worked very closely with SAP and Intellisoft , leveraging our combined industry experience to ensure our digital transformation will deliver enhanced services to our customers and employees . This first phase of the digital transformation will increase efficiencies and our agility in responding to customer needs and changes in the market .
“ Moreover , by streamlining our processes , improving our data mining and analysis capabilities , and gaining superior overall visibility on all aspects of our business , we will be able to ensure that we offer unmatched services .”
