AirCarbon Exchange , ACX announced its exchange and clearing house in Abu Dhabi Global Market is live . Key trades have already been executed and settled on the platform , signifying the commencement of what is anticipated to be voluntary carbon markets . ACX established its regional base in ADGM in August 2021 with the support of Hub71 , Abu Dhabi ’ s global tech ecosystem . Mubadala invested in ACX in September 2022 as a strategic step in line with its economic diversification mandate and commitment to responsible investing .
UAE based metaverse project Everdome unveiled SPACES , the debut release of the new Metaverse-as-a-Service product line , which aims to make the metaverse more accessible for all . SPACES will allow users without deep technical knowledge to quickly produce metaverse experiences which can last for days , weeks or even a matter of hours as a metaverse pop-up space . The Everdome team combines the power of Unreal Engine 5 with blockchain technology , wrapping them together to create easy to use metaverse templates .

Google Cloud announced the opening of its new cloud region in Dammam , bringing Google Cloud Platform services to customers of all sizes , in Saudi Arabia and Middle East . Access Partnership notes that the new Dammam cloud region can support the growth ambitions of 1.2 million SMEs in Saudi Arabia . Google Cloud Platform Services are available to Saudi Arabia-based customers through CNTXT , a joint venture between Cognite and Aramco . CNTXT is Google Cloud ’ s exclusive reseller for local organisations . SAP and Saudi Cloud Computing Company , a subsidiary of stc Group , formed a partnership where SAP solutions will be hosted locally in SCCC datacentres , providing enhanced data security . The collaboration allows businesses to utilise the SaaS model by leveraging SAP ’ s advanced features that come with an ERP system . The innovation is hosted on a secure , integrated infrastructure , reducing latency and data sovereignty issues .

Ooredoo Group , announced joining the IoT World Alliance as their newest member and the sole operator representing the Middle East and North Africa region within the Alliance . OMAN
Following the successful application of a biometric-based digital ID platform , developed by uqudo and powered by TECH5 ’ s biometric technologies , for voter identity verification in the 2022 elections in Oman , the country used the same technology for verification of over 750,000 voters during the 2023 Shura Council ’ s member elections . The electronic voting system via the Antakhib mobile app with the innovative biometric and digital ID platform was used for the first time in the history of Shura Council ’ s member elections within and outside the Sultanate of Oman , providing remote voting capabilities to eligible voters outside the country on October 22nd , and within Oman on October 29th .
