Greetings to the readers of Intelligent CIO Middle

East . The year opened with the usual multitude of technology events and road shows in the first month . Intersec 2024 was characterised by the number of players displaying cloud-based integration dashboards . While physical security distances itself from information technology , based on the lack of software rigour , the sheer deluge of data built up from the edge through perimeter cameras , biometric and other sensors , and the need to have intelligent analytics at the backend is driving the release of cloud-based platforms .
The focus at Oracle CloudWorld Dubai was on the success stories of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure across the region , dominantly with telecom service providers and government establishments . The role played by Oracle ’ s sovereign cloud and the addition of NVIDIA superclusters in the Oracle stack , and the move towards vertical industry clouds was a key topic of fireside discussion .
In this month ’ s lead feature , we are pleased to present our engagement with Emirates Airlines COO , Adel Al Redha across the recent announcement of its innovation hub at Expo 2020 campus , which technologies are the basis of its next passenger delight , how Emirates selects technologies , and some of the challenges it faces .
