CASE STUDY region ' s high-stakes operational demands. We are already seeing significant pull into this market, driven by global data centre partners who are migrating existing nickel-zinc deployments into new Middle Eastern territories.
The advent of AI has shattered that status quo. systems, which rely on flammable electrolytes to achieve high performance, our chemistry utilises a stable, aqueous-based electrolyte. While the lithium industry has made significant strides in safety through sophisticated Battery Management Systems( BMS) and design mitigations, these are essentially external layers used to manage a volatile core.
From a risk-assessment perspective, if a data centre operator is installing 500 megawatts of energy storage, the choice between a flammable or non-flammable chemistry is binary. For an analyst, risk is the product of probability and consequence. With nickel-zinc, the consequence of a thermal runaway event is virtually eliminated; once the stored energy dissipates, you are left with inert metals rather than a self-sustaining chemical fire.
This chemical stability translates directly into regulatory and operational advantages. Our systems simplify fire suppression requirements and permit applications by meeting local codes and standards with ease. By choosing a chemistry that is inherently safe at the molecular level, operators can future-proof their facilities against increasingly stringent safety regulations, ensuring long-term operational continuity without the systemic risk of thermal runaway.
The Middle East is investing heavily in hyperscale infrastructure and national AI strategies; how do you see ZincFive’ s technology aligning with the region’ s priorities around resilience, safety and sustainable power?
The Middle East represents a strategic frontier for our expansion. Having achieved the requisite scale, our primary focus is ensuring that our technical support infrastructure matches the
In a sector often dominated by legacy technologies, breaking ground requires a compelling case for safety and sustainability. The region’ s evolving regulatory landscape and ambitious ESG goals align perfectly with our inherent advantages. By offering a chemistry that excels in high-temperature environments without the risk of thermal runaway, we are confident in our ability to displace incumbent systems. For us, this market entry isn ' t just about sales, it’ s about providing a commonsense, future-proof power solution for the next generation of global data hubs.
As AI infrastructure continues to scale globally, how do you see Immediate Power Solutions – and nickel-zinc technology more broadly – evolving to support the next generation of data centres?
The industry is witnessing a fundamental architectural shift driven by extreme power density. Traditional hyperscale infrastructure typically operates at low voltages, ranging from 12V to 48V, but as AI workloads intensify, the resulting current levels create unsustainable thermal loads. To manage these temperatures effectively, the industry roadmap is pivoting towards highvoltage systems, with 400V, 800Vand even 1500V architectures currently under consideration.
This transition introduces unprecedented distribution challenges. Moving 800V + throughout a facility to concentrated GPU clusters requires a complete rethink of safety and sustainability. This is where our Immediate Power platform becomes essential. Whether situated adjacent to GPU servers to absorb millisecond dynamic loads or deployed at the facility perimeter for load-levelling, nickel-zinc batteries provide a versatile buffer.
We are already seeing inquiries for largescale energy systems designed to bridge the gap between the grid and the data centre. By facilitating better current budgeting and managing the dynamic loads inherent in highdensity computation, large-scale nickel-zinc deployments are becoming a cornerstone of the next-generation power train. We are no longer just backing up a site; we are enabling the very distribution of high-density energy. •
