UAE UAE Ericsson has partnered with telecommunications operator Etisalat to bring the Ericsson Radio Dot System to the Dubai Outlet Mall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With the Dot running live, Etisalat will be able to deliver superior indoor cellular connectivity to shoppers, vendors and stores at the Mall. The Ericsson Radio Dot System more than doubles download speeds compared with the Mall’s previously installed indoor system. Offering reliable, secure and highperformance cellular connectivity is increasingly important to the hospitality sector in order to meet consumer demands for digitised retail experiences. The Ericsson Radio Dot System is a compact small cell radio solution weighing less than 300 grams. Its design, conceived to fit into any environment, offers a number of user advantages: throughput is improved by up to five times, dropped calls are reduced to zero, and installation times can be as low as four minutes per Dot. The Ericsson Radio Dot System has also been designed to consume less power than traditional indoor solutions and improve battery lifetime for the devices. www.intelligentcio.com INTELLIGENTCIO 21
