Oman launches HADATHA Cybersecurity Innovation Centre
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology( MoTCIT) and Sultan Qaboos University( SQU) has opened a new centre to drive cybersecurity research and development.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology( MoTCIT), represented by the National Centre for Information Safety, has partnered with Sultan Qaboos University( SQU) to launch the‘ HADATHA’ Cybersecurity Innovation Centre.
The HADATHA Centre’ s core objectives include encouraging research, innovation, and development in cybersecurity, strengthening the educational framework as a hub for innovation and R & D, and promoting an innovative culture among Omani youth.

Badar bin Ali Al Salhi, Director General of the National Centre for Information Safety at MoTCIT, said:“ In an era of accelerating digital threats and escalating cyber challenges, local innovations in this domain are essential. The centre is one of Oman’ s ambitious national initiatives reflecting the country’ s vision for a secure and prosperous digital economy built on innovation, excellence and national capacity building.”
It also seeks to establish Oman as a regional leader in cybersecurity innovation through the implementation of the Cybersecurity Industry Programme. This involves joint initiatives to support innovation, attract investment for socio-economic development, localise technology in line with global advancements, and enable Omani youth to create competitive, exportable cybersecurity products.
