EDITOR’ S NOTE

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO Middle East.

This month’ s cover story, which can be found on page 14, features Nabil Alsanbi, IT Operations Director at Batterjee Medical College( BMC). He tells us how BMC is driving Digital Transformation to support rapid expansion, enhance hybrid learning and strengthen data protection as it prepares to open its first international campus.
BMC selected Veeam to unify and modernise its data resilience strategy, replacing legacy tools with a scalable solution that protects on-premises, cloud and Microsoft 365 workloads. With Veeam, the college has cut recovery times from hours to minutes, reduced backup windows and storage requirements and freed IT teams to focus on strategic initiatives.
The platform’ s automation, simplicity and builtin security have boosted Business Continuity and improved operational efficiency across the institution. As BMC’ s data grows at 20 % per year, Veeam ensures the college can scale confidently, safeguard critical systems and support its long-term educational ambitions.
The report shows growing confidence among UAE IT leaders, who are adopting a mix of AI technologies and increasingly relying on hybrid data architectures for security, scalability and better analytics.
Despite strong progress, many organisations admit they are still developing the data-first culture needed to maximise AI’ s value and overcome challenges around trust, governance and compliance.
Cloudera highlights the importance of accessing and governing 100 % of enterprise data across cloud, onpremises and edge environments to drive responsible AI at scale.
