FEATURE individual requests into digital co-workers capable of understanding context, anticipating requirements and taking action.
El Yahya said AI assistants were already moving beyond basic task automation and becoming more proactive workplace tools.
“ Rather than simply responding to requests, they can increasingly understand context, connect information across systems, and suggest actions based on business needs.”
This could have particular value in operationally complex industries, where the ability to recognise an emerging problem and surface the right information quickly can directly influence business performance.
“ In industries such as manufacturing, AI can help identify supply chain risks, inventory challenges or customer issues before they escalate, enabling employees to respond faster. At Epicor, we see significant potential for AI to reduce time spent searching for information and increase time spent acting on insights.”
Yet greater AI autonomy does not eliminate the importance of human expertise.
“ However, AI works best when paired with human expertise. Employees still provide the judgement, experience and accountability needed for critical business decisions. The goal is not to replace people, but to augment their capabilities. As AI matures, it will take on more repetitive and process-driven tasks, allowing employees to focus on strategic thinking, collaboration and higher-value work that benefits from human insight.”
An intelligence layer for employee experience

Kazmi said digital employee experience platforms were increasingly moving beyond simply measuring whether employees were satisfied with their technology.
“ Digital employee experience platforms are increasingly moving beyond measuring whether employees are satisfied with their technology. As AI becomes embedded across workplace applications, these platforms can become an important intelligence layer for understanding how technology is actually being experienced and where friction is affecting productivity. The opportunity is to connect signals from applications, devices, services and employee interactions to identify recurring issues, anticipate needs and improve experiences before problems become widespread.”
AI could make those signals considerably more actionable by identifying patterns that employees or IT teams might otherwise struggle to detect.
“ AI can make this intelligence more actionable by identifying patterns that would be difficult to detect manually and recommending or automating appropriate responses. This also changes the focus from reacting to individual
