Amazon Web Services( AWS) has confirmed that its first AWS Cloud Infrastructure Region in Saudi Arabia is on track to launch in December 2026, expanding local cloud capacity for enterprises, startups and developers.
AWS is also expanding its strategic collaboration with HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund-owned company, to provide up to 50MW of capacity within Saudi Arabia’ s first AI Zone by 2028.
The AI infrastructure will include AWS Trainium chips and the latest NVIDIA technologies, supporting AI training and inference workloads. The investment is designed to increase the Kingdom’ s cloud and AI capacity in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
HUMAIN’ s ALLAM Arabic large language model will also become available through Amazon Bedrock, giving customers access to Arabic-language generative AI capabilities. HUMAIN Fabric, the company’ s AI-native data infrastructure and a component of its HUMAIN ONE generative AI operating system, will also be offered through AWS Marketplace.
The new AWS Region will enable organisations to run applications and serve customers from data centres located within Saudi Arabia.
SAUDI ARABIA
The UAE Cabinet has launched the Cabinet AI Advisor system as part of a wider government transformation programme aimed at embedding agentic AI across government operations.
The system will deploy 32 specialised AI advisors to support the Cabinet and the Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development. The advisors will analyse government programmes, policies and legislation, assess their financial, economic, social and environmental impact and provide recommendations based on approved sources and national priorities.
The initiative is designed to accelerate the assessment of government projects, improve decision-making and support the implementation and monitoring of Cabinet decisions while meeting UAE cybersecurity and confidentiality requirements.
The Cabinet also reviewed the government’ s wider Digital Transformation progress. Federal entities completed more than 308 million digital transactions across 1,633 digital services during the past year, alongside 471 Digital Transformation projects.
The government also plans to train 22,000 teachers and educators to use AI for teaching, assessment, curriculum analysis and lesson planning.
