COUNTRY FOCUS: UAE
With the
UAE leading
the way in many
aspects of Digital
Transformation, Real-
time technology is making
a significant impact on
the way enterprises are
increasing efficiency in the
Emirates. With Real-time
technology requiring processes
to be completed as they happen,
we look at three contrasting
use cases that illustrate how
enterprises are transforming the
way they operate.

efficiency in Real-time
I
n most aspects of computing, the
completion of processes can be done
on a delayed basis, for instance, where
information is aggregated, kept and stored
for later use. Real-time technology though
demands processes are completed as they
happen in a time frame that is relatively
imperceptible to the user.
Firstly, we look at how the Abu Dhabi National
Oil Company is taking advantage of a central
hub ‘system of systems’ from AVEVA that
transforms the control room by offering live
data access across all operations.
The benefits include a greater capacity to
monitor operations, increase transparency,
anticipate challenges, measure operational
efficiency and enable better decisions based
on accurate, real-time information. Then we look at how Dubai International
Airport, the world’s busiest airport, has
launched realtimeDXB, a bespoke cloud-
based platform that offers real-time
monitoring by gathering data from 50
operational systems to keep airport teams
informed not only of current situations but
events as they develop.
Intelligent CIO looks at three use cases that
demonstrate how the concept of Real-time is
making its mark in the real world of business. Lastly, we look at how the Abu Dhabi
Commercial Bank is using a Blockchain
platform from dltledgers to offer corporate
